About meI'm an American living in Nova Scotia after meeting the love of my life on the internet 11 years ago. I'm a registered nurse married to a lawyer and fellow book lover. We live with our 3 cats, Anderson Cooper (a girl) and her two brothers Max and Harry. My favourite thing to do is to while away an afternoon at the bookstore. I can never leave without spending way too much money.

About my libraryI have a very eclectic collection. I have to admit I am always a bit reluctant to loan out my books. One must treat books with the utmost reverence. Never Ever bend the pages or break the spine. No eating or drinking near the books. I'm a bit militant.

Elizabeth,

It seems we do have many things in common! I am also very particular about my books. I keep a list of who I've loaned what books to so that I make sure I get them back. My mother is the worst person to loan a book to. When you get a book back from her the spine is broken and the covers are bent. She says she tries to be careful, but I'm not sure what she does to them. I've been known to buy a new copy after she's done! Most of my books look like they haven't been read.

I am a nurse. A new one. I worked for many years in insurance and my job moved out of state and I changed careers. I just started back to school to get my bachelor's degree. I am single, with a 24 year old daughter and a 2 year old granddaughter, both who like to read almost as much as I do.

I'm always open to new suggestions, so if you find a book that you particularly enjoy, feel free to pass along a suggestion!

Brenda
Thanks for your kind words! I'm enjoying browsing through your library. :-) It's fun to see what books others have.

I noticed you read and reviewed Dewey. I haven't decided if I want to read that one yet or not. Have you had a chance to read Homer's Odyssey by Gwen Cooper? I've been meaning to read that one.

Have a great weekend, Elizabeth!
I saw your post on one of my threads "Pick a book you haven't read yet" I read your profile and found it very interesting. You could a bit like my son. He is crazy about his book and always was. I am not one for bending the pages of cracking the binding but I am no where near on how my son, and probably you, treat your books.

I also thought that you may find my other thread interesting. I sure would like to hear what you have to say. Check out...http://www.librarything.com/topic/69879

My husband and I are planning to go to Nova Scotia next month to visit his son's family in Greenwood. I haven't ever been and I am so looking forward to seeing that part of my country.
Elizabeth, thank you for your note! I haven't had a chance to browse your library yet. But I look forward to it. Do you have any suggestions for me! I love sharing book ideas. I'm reading the guernsey literary and potato peel pie society. It's the perfect summer book!

Keep in touch. Kate
Hi from Saint John! Yes, we have many books in common, although I have to admit many of mine are TBR. I just finished Last Orders....beautiful book and just noticed on the internet that there is a movie with Helen Mirren and Michael Caine. Are you familiar with it? I love to read Canadian literature...taught high school English for years and pushed Can lit as much as I could. My favorite Canadian novels are No Great Mischief and Who Has Seen the Wind. I would highly recommend both of them. No Great Mischief is the most beautiful book I have ever read on the subject of family love and loyalty. If you have any recommendations for me, I would love to hear them! Bye for now, Brenda O.
