My copy of "Adventures in Japan" arrived today. Can't wait to get started on it, but there are so many others already in the queue. Thanks.
I posted the title page of the children's book today.
Do you know offhand of any Dutch or Flemish novels available in English about one of those rural microcosms you'd recommend more warmly than you do Familiezaken? Cheers.
Dear Edwin,

Noticing your suggestion of John Muir for the next three monthly reads I was wondering if you might be interested in Hugh Miller, author of "My Schools and Schoolmasters" among others. A Scots autodidact with an interest in natural history.

Interesting to note the books we share, and I see you are somewhat of a linguist as well as a traveller.
Thank you for choosing my library as an interesting one. I hope it leads you to some writers you may not have known.

Thanks for the new Club Read 2014 "picture"! Rebecca
In your review of The Wild Boys by William Burroughs you state that the book was not published until 1980. Mine was published by Grove in 1973 and I think it was probably published earlier than that.
Great review of the Warhold Diaries, you have background and context I'm sure I won't have. I also have dipped into it in the past, and probably will never read cover-to-cover as Hackett advises. But it's helpful to read your gloss on that.
Have you noticed the new feature that lets you know what you should borrow from other people's libraries? LT says I should borrow 149 of your books, so I'll drop by later and collect them, shall I? I'll probably need to bring a bag.

A lot of international people are dropping out of BM (especially Canadians) and I can't say I'm surprised. It's the logical result of decisions made by a single person who read one magazine article. I've reduced my involvement and am having friends and relatives haul along books for me whenever they visit from Germany. Anyway, LT is the more valuable resource.

I'm sorry you didn't like Dreaming in Chinese. I'm planning to read it as soon as I run down a copy.
Hi, Edwin,

Thanks for adding my library to your list of interesting ones. I believe we've made some Book Mooches in the past.

Hallo Edwin,
