About meI'm a computer scientist/software developer, age 44, who lived (more or less) the first half of life so far in Norway (Oslo region), second half in England (Cambridge, London), and the last two years in Catalonia (Barcelona), where as far as I am concerned I intend to stay forever. I'm in a very long and very happy gay relationship with Josep-Anton. I'm learning Catalan, and enjoy mountain walking and photography.

About my libraryMy most favourite reading tends to be from the "upper reaches" of popular science non-fiction: biology (evolution, genetics), physics (quantum theory, cosmology), lingustics, computing, chemistry, mathematics, ...

I guess my favourite authors would be the likes of Richard Dawkins, Jared Diamond, Daniel Dennet, Stephen Pinker, ...

Only problem with living in Barcelona is that it is not so easy to find new books from these and similar authors in English in the bookshops any more, and waiting for them to appear in Catalan translation is not always that fruitful unfortunately. Obviously, with the internet... but it's not the same as popping into a large bookshop (like Foyle's, Waterstone's and Blackwell in London) and browsing the shelves.

Inevitably, I also have a large collection of technical computer books, and a "legacy" collection of comic books from the early years, not least a near-complete collection of pocket-sized Peanuts :-)
