About meI don't know how others make the all-important decision between four stars and five, three and two. But I try not to give five stars to something unless it is mind-shatteringly sublime, or unless it is both fairly splendid and strikes a chord with me. Yes, with me personally. How can we possibly pretend this is objective?
About my libraryI don't seem to have the drive to ravenously catalog my books that seems to mark others of my acquaintance. I am adding them as they come up, and enjoying annotating my reading as it progresses, but this is by no means complete, and of course includes things I am reading, but do not own.

Your assessment of House Of Leaves is spot on. I'm curious if you've attempted his follow up, Only Revolutions, and what your opinion, if you have, would be? I absolutely loathed it, capital L, and am searching for someone to convince me otherwise because I so wanted to love it after having looked forward to its release for so long. Oh well.
Warmly, "Lola"

I suppose the latter...I was an embryo paleontologist until age 20 but my development took a sudden left turn. Now I'm a writer. How about you?
Originally professional student, mostly paleontology but with odd bits here and there. Then computer programmer. Now environmental compliance officer for a transit district.

You're welcome. People with eclectic tastes are always interesting. Are you a paleontologist with a literary streak, or a literati with a paleontological streak?
