About meFinnish researcher and academic writer

About my libraryI have a library of approx. 1300 books, mainly ranging from fiction to humanities and social sciences. Most of the books have been bought second-hand, thanks to some excellent and incredibly inexpensive antiquarian bookstores, but with the more scientific items Amazon has been of great help, too. So far I have only catalogued some of the non-Finnish books.

We noticed that you were a Jorge Luis Borges fan, and we wanted to let you know that we've just published a brand new translation of his story, "Gradus Ad Parnassum," in our anthology, 'flatmanCROOKED – First Winter.' "Gradus Ad Parnassum" is not currently in print in English, so we're rather excited to publish what is to many Borges fans brand new work. The book also includes debut fiction from National Book Award winner Ha Jin, as well as stories from myriad other established and emerging authors. Check the book out at www.flatmancrooked.com/fmcmarket.html. If you get it through our website, it's significantly cheaper than through Amazon or Barnes & Noble!
Oops, haven't been too actice lately...

The "academic proletarian" simply referred to my working as a research assistant at the University of Helsinki, but as my research assisting days are now luckily over, the correct label currently is "researcher" or , more polemically, "academic aristocrat". ;) Marxist and other connotations are intentional and ironic, needless to say.
Academic proletarian?? Does that imply a Marxist connotation or is it just a label?
