I was looking at your library in attempt to propose an alternative book that won't be a dissapointment. Have you ever read Lilith's Brood by Octavia Butler? I only ask because you seem to be interested in science fiction with a profound philisophical bent. If I'm right in my assumption (sorry if I'm not, I know what they say about assuming) then you might like Lilith's Brood. Just to be cruel I won't tell you much about it (you can read the review I wrote if you are interested) other than the fact that the author is a winner of the MacArthur Foundation "Genius" Grant for her work in science fiction (I believe that she is the only science fiction writer to receive this honor), which says something about the seriousness and quality of her books.
