About meI've loved books since I was a small child. I lived in the library when I was little - my mom would beg me to go outside and play. And now, I'm an equally enthusiastic reader now that I'm in my 30s. I read when drying my hair, at red lights in traffic and every night before I fall asleep. My dream is to write my own book - although I can never figure out what to write about.

About my libraryI'm still entering books, so it's not complete. I thought I'd track my library reading here as well - I consider library books to be "mine" too. I just visit them less frequently! (Library books are marked 'library,' in case you're interested!)

I am definitely on Team Peeta as well. They better not have her end up with Gale cause as much as I like him, he has been too peripheral a character for me to feel he is a good fit.

Enjoyed your review by the way.

Go Peeta!!!
Noticed you liked Girl Interrupted, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a disturbed young girl's mental illness and also a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Hi Laura,

I am new to LibraryThing and am having fun looking at libraries similar to mine. You and I share about 30 books in common, including my all time favorite book The Time Traveler's Wife as well as one of my favorite authors, Laurel K. Hamilton!
I just happen to live in an area where not many people read...although I am beginning to think this is not just a problem in my area according to some of the group discussions I have read.
I don't understand why people don't read more, but am happy to have found you and am hoping we can become friends. I have enjoyed getting recommendations from searching through different libraries and my current favorite genre is historical fiction, although I read just about anything except most romance books and some science fiction.
I currently have quite a list of books that are just waiting for me to read them. My library seems to grow faster than I can keep up. Does this happen to you too?

Hi,

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for the santa thing books. I've been wanting to get the Lisa Kleypas series for awhile and I'm looking forward to starting it as soon as I finish the book I'm currently reading. I will also be putting the Merry Gentry series at the top of my TBR pile.

Thanks again

Danielle!
Hiya! Just thought I'd drop by and say I love your reviews, especially the one you wrote about "Heaven" by V. C. Andrews. It really cracked me up. :)
I think I stopped reading the Pern books after the First Fall collection and I think I did read Masterharper. But I didn't want to keep going after Robinton was dead and they stopped the Red Star. The Dragonsinger books were the best! (The first two, at least). That's why I think you'll like Crystal Singer because they are similar but all three are great.

I did read most of the Rowan series, but recommend only the Rowan and Damia. Damia's Children starts to get a little boring.

I have read all the "The Ship who" books by her as well - not the ones that were solely written by others though. I think the best one out of that bunch is The Ship who Searched, though I would recommend to start from the beginning.

I have read... other... books by her but I think I've babbled on enough and thinking that I must have had an Anne McCaffrey obsession in high school, so I'll stop now. haha.
I see that you like the Dragons of Pern series by Anne MacCaffrey. Have you ever read the Crystal Singers trilogy by her? It's the best!
Hi Laura! Thanks for being my LibraryThing friend. It's nice to meet you. We have some terrific books in common!

Lisa :)
Hi, I wanted to invite you to join our group, Romance From Historical To Contemporary. I see that you have several authors in your library who are also favorites of our members, including Lisa Kleypas. We are reading her books as a group, and May's selection is [Suddenly You]. Come join us, we'd love to have you!

Dear chick-lit reader,

I’m a belgian university student that loves chick-lit. Would you like to help me with my thesis and write to me why you (personally) like reading chick-lit? What is it about chick-lit that appeals to you? What are your favourite books and why? Your help would mean a lot to me!

Best wishes,

Ester Wellens
