About meI love to read. I love books. I have some sort of weird book fetish, but then doesn't everyone here?

I'm a forty-ish woman with primary reading interests in poetry, music, art therapy, psychology and anything that's a good read. I try to keep two books going at all times: a nonfiction and a fiction book. I belong to a book club where we meet for dinner at a restaurant that reflects the book we read that month. I'm also attempting to read 50 books between 1 February 2008 and 1 January 2009. So far I'm on track, but that may be why my library isn't up to date...

About my libraryAs always, I've got piles of books yet to be listed. I doubt the tags will ever be meaningful to me, let alone anyone else!

If you see a book you'd like, PLEASE CONTACT ME, as I am trying desperately to reduce my tons o' books and I have a long wishlist at the moment as well.

Noticed you liked White Oleander, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a dysfunctional family (and also a bit dark). I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter) in case you'd like to read more before you commit:

Hi, just saw your post on my book challenge. I know what it's like to realise its getting light out and the few pages you meant to read when you went to bed have turned into almost a whole book and a night of no sleep.
I'm really enjoying The End of Mr Y and didn't mean to stop reading it for another one, but on the first page I was hooked. I only meant to skim it when it was delivered, just to see if it lived up to how I thought it would be. It's not quite as I expected it to be and I 'visited' it in the bookstore several times before I decided to buy it but now I'm very glad I bought it. Because of the cover I was expecting something in the style of The Glass Books of the Dream Eaters or how I'm expecting The Somnambulist to be when it gets to the top of my TBR pile.
Pippy Longstocking wasn't something I read when I was small but I later read about her in other books (mostly by American authors) and really wanted to read it. When I did, she was different to how I imagined her but I liked her very much.
Since I discovered Library Think I seem to be reading less because I'm on here talking to everyone, but it's worth it because I've met some lovely people and had a lot of fun. It's kind of like the best book club in the world and you can go every day, not just once a month. And it's certainly the friendliest site on the internet that I have found.
Take care, see you around the site, Jody
