About meMiddle-aged translator, lifelong fascination with anything English and British. My education is really about history and archaeology, I have an MA in Finnish history.

However, languages, especially English, have always been my love no. 2. So that explains the amount of English books in my library. Languages are the salt of my life, reading books is extasy.

About my libraryA diverse collection of everything I find interesting. Some books are moving off the library to new pastures due to family matters.

GroupsA Pearl of Wisdom and Enlightenment, Agatha Christie, Ancient China, Ancient History, Anglophiles, BBC Radio 3 Listeners, Bookcases: If You Build/Buy Them, They Will Fill, Books by Taschen, BritWit, Cats, books, life is all groups

Thanks for the 'intersting' vote... I like the picture of your library....
Hej Erja,

I am currently in Stockholm and so while updating my profile I had a look at the bookshops in the city and found the 'New York Stories' bookshop and that it was one of your favourites.

My husband also calls me a bibliomanic, so we definitely have something in common!

Best wishes,

I wish I could figure out how to post another picture on my profile because my books shelves look strangely similar to yours. I had to take a second glance to see that it wasn't my books!!
Whoa I love that picture of your library.
Hej Erva
Biblioteks i regneark.
Jeg håber, du forstår mit skandinaviske.
Mange hilsner fra Danmark
I want to improve my Japanese reading and writing, and so I'm interested in what other non-Japanese read in that language. Also, I think we had a fair number of books in common. Yoroshiku.
Kiitos vaan profiilini lisäämisestä kiinnostaviin kirjastoihin!

ps. toi sun kirjahyllynkuva on tosi kiva
Hei Erja,

Vai TOKIOSTA löysit Becoming a Translatorin! Se on aika hyvä market penetration!
Hei Erja,

Huomaan että omistat kaksi mun kirjaa - ollaanko me tavattu? Muistan tavanneeni joitakin Hirvosia, mutten yhtään Erjaa! Mutta siis olet kääntäjä, voi hyvinkin olla että ollaan tavattu!

Oman kirjaston luettelointi alkaa olla valmis, joten kiinnostus alkaa siirtyä muiden kirjastoihin :)
Hei Erja

Kokeilen tätä palvelua ensin jonkin aikaa, sitten todennäköisesti maksan lisätilasta ja lisään katalogiin karttakirjatkin :)
Hello Erja
Many thanks for adding me to your list of 'Interesting Libraries'. I see that we share 140 books, including a few of my favourite Crime Fiction and Crime Reference volumes.
I have visited Helsinki a couple of years ago. Loved it.
Very best wishes from England
