About me I'm a compulsive book buyer. I can't help myself. Everytime I pass by a bookstore, I break into a cold sweat. The only cure is to go inside and buy a book! My justification? I'm helping to support the cities independent book stores.

Actually I have several books on the subject as a result of my curating an exhibit on the subject of Kashmir and Paisley shawls at the University of Washington's Henry Art Gallery. It was wonderful having a hands-on experience with historic shawls!
You've got a great collection of books. I've enjoyed taking a peek and discovering how conceptually oriented they are. It seems we have a lot of interests in common, including European art history and the medieval period (we have boxes of books on the subject that are not yet catalogued in LibraryThing). What are your favorite bookstores in San Francisco? I'm guessing Green Apple is one of them. (I grew up in the Bay Area and lived in San Francisco for about 20 years.)
Since you have so many excellent books on museum studies and you live in San Francisco I have to ask, are you part of a museum studies program or do you work in a museum? I did an MA with John F. Kennedy University's Center for Museum Studies in the early 80's, curated exhibits at San Francisco State University for a decade, and then came to Seattle in 1989 to do an MA in Art History at UW.
