About meborn in va, raised in nc, i was a sensitive, creative, dorky kid with a alarmingly normal upbringing devoid of tragedy. i played in the band geezer lake from 1990-1997. that was awesome. lived in boston 1997-2005. played in the band gladiola for a year or so. good times. then dover, new hampshire for two years. awesome. and now i find myself back in north carolina. perfect.

i always have lip balm in my pocket. i usually am in the process of reading 2 or 3 books. i can muti-task like a motherfucker. when flying i prefer to sit in an aisle seat close to the front. i read at least 1 newspaper daily. i can keep a secret. i love to write. i have too many ideas and not enough gumption. i think we could all use a good dose of shame. i have one scar and no tattoos. i am not fond of public displays of religion or affection. i like to listen to people's conversations in public. i only tuck in my shirt or wear a tie at weddings or funerals. i buy books faster than i can read them. i always prefer low lighting. i think many problems could be solved if we could all just embrace moderation. when i find a note on the ground i have to pick it up and read it and sometimes i will save it. in a world without consequences i would sit down and eat a cinnabon like it were a filet mignon. i like old logos, designs, ads, and architecture. sometimes i think about how i will never get to read all the books and see all the movies and listen to all the music and see all the places that i want to before i die and that makes me anxious. when i am sitting in a meeting i feel like i am in some sort of hell.

Hello. We have 33 books in common, and they're many of my favorites. I'm new to LibraryThing, so thanks for the inadvertent encouragement to say and find more similar-minded souls. I love your About Me blurb, also. I too buy books much faster than I can read them. If you enjoy poetry, may I humbly recommend "Actual Air" by David Berman (frontman/genius of the Silver Jews, if you're not already familiar with him). I'm not a great poetry fan, but really enjoy those and it seems to be absent from your library. Thanks. :-)
Hi,

Was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Saw you liked Paris Trout, and thought you might like my novel since it's also southern and a bit dark (in the same vein as Paris Trout). I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

ANOTHER NAME FOR THE TOWN IS " THE POOR MAN'S PALM BEACH", BUT I GUSS THEY'S MEN THAT COMES THERE THAT COULD BORROW AS MUCH FROM THE BANK AS SOME OF THE WILLIE BOYS OVER TO THE OTHER PALM BEACH

would u please paraoherase it for me. esp what does WILLIE BOYS mean?

is it possible to mail my other questions?

thanks alot,

it's so great to know someone who loves to read as much as I do. I always felt alone in that aspect.
We now have 10 books in common. And I'm almost done with Newjack by Conover.
Friendly-type overlap makes me feel like we're neighbors. Can I borrow your drill?
That's right, I'm a hopeless follower, nipping at your heels with all humility. Great site, thanks for posting it on MOG.
hey dova! I grew up in VT & ME. reading profiles from New Englanders always reminds me of maple syrup and the Red Sox getting their asses kicked late in the season, which may be related to why I love pancakes but not baseball. nine books in common, and all over the map. peace.
ok, so we don't really have many books in common, but the ones that apply make me feel good. that combined with your "about me" blip makes me feel all warm inside. i think this is because so many people don't fill that crap out so it was a welcome surprise to find one that not only says something, but sounds like it was taken directly out of my mind.

suddenly i find myself craving some cinnabon...
