About mePhilosopher.

About my libraryThe books catalogued here represent about three quarters of my total collection, since I haven't been bothered yet to enter many books without ISBNs. They also include many books owned by my partner. I keep track of books I would like to read here: http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/1395061

Dad's finally read the Recognitions. Out of a varied selection I eventually got him, it's been the one he's disliked the least, and at times he might even have enjoyed. So thanks - your was the best suggestion I recieved!
Thanks for your very prompt response!
I've come to your profile following links off Patrick White's page.

I'm trying to research a book to get my dad for Christmas. He claims he's enjoyed Patrick White but read all of his that he intends to. Would you have any suggestions for a similar author?

Much obliged if you do happen to think of anything. No worries at all if you don't.

Fox.
Hello! Good to hear about The Recognitions. I've just started Carpenter's Gothic - slightly pleased that I picked his briefest work to get my feet wet - and it is indeed brilliant. Nobody will ever write dialogue like Gaddis again.
hello
Thank you, sir. Haven't read the Markson yet. Used bookstore buy from a few years ago. I like what Dalkey publishes, though, as well as NYRB and Green Integer and others.
Dear Sir:

At this time the Parker Tyler Memorial Library is a private enterprise, with visits by personal arrangement only, and is guarded 24-hours a day by pit-bull. You may note that its contents are extensively indexed in our Librarything account; the heart of the collection is a shelf of materials by and about Mr. Tyler himself.

Appointments are always available; if you wish to view materials or have further queries, please contact one of our Library's curators at the emails on our Profile.

Yours truly,
the PTML
