About me I'm an average guy who reads a book a week. I enjoy all styles, although I have a tendency to prefer dead authors to live ones.

About my library I tell people I have a thrift store degree; the majority of my library has been purchased two dollars at a time, and I have difficulty going to a retail bookstore anymore. How fun is it to enter a store knowing exactly what you want to buy?

We share an enthusiasm for Penguin Classics - I will definitely be joining the group!

I don't have a lot of the newer editions, but quite a lot of the older (60s and 70s) editions. In addition to the PCs, I also have a decent collection of the old "Penguin Modern Classics" (green spines) and "Penguin English Library" (orange spines). One of the joys of book collecting is finding one of the older editions that I have not seen before, or finding one of the UK editions unavailable in the states.

And oddly, I just now noticed that we are pretty close to the top with regard to shared books.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello.

I am happy you find the Penguin Classics -- in all their denominations -- to be great experiences. Mine are pretty much marked up, and who can complain!
