Oh my good heavens, no. Even if I weren't being distracted by Japanese, I'm pretty horrible at recognizing which tone is which. I finally got some tapes made by someone with a Bangkok accent that my relatives find acceptable instead of hilarious, so that should help once I muster up the will to venture into the tonal language breach again.
