About meA reader, collector, gardener, cook, researcher, writer, film buff and traveller who loves being surrounded by favorite books.

About my libraryMy collection has been slowly but steadily growing for many years. My specific areas of interest include Thoroughbred horse racing and breeding (hence the large number of obscure annuals only horse people would appreciate), Kentucky history, and contemporary Kentucky authors. Also a bit of an Anglophile and enjoy English history, fiction, and the great English mystery writers. Art, architecture and gardening books are other genres I gravitate towards, and of course, fiction. I 'inherited' a large number of books on trees, birds, and plant life. Lots of cookbooks, too. Love finding rare books in out of the way places, especially underpriced ones!

No, I haven't been to Morrises......book stores are *bad* for me.....Have been on an online kick, lately. Discovered that if books are in stock at Alibris warehouse, and you buy $50 the shipping is free, so got 24 books for a little over $50.... :-) Also have discovered another used book store in Indiana that saves library books on their way to the landfill, and contributes money to world literacy funds, and also back to libraries that donate their unwanted books to them.........www.betterworldbooks.com......
Hi Neighbor, Love LT and especially England like you say you do too. Just read who owned The Horse and B Grass Country because I had pulled it to do an article for newspaper. I live off Alumni, how about you? haley
Hi, I had to send you a comment on your fantastic thoroughbred collection. I am truely impressed. I have been working on mine but I get distracted by books about other breeds and horse care and what not.You are lucky to live in a place where the thoroughbred is truely king,oh, and not to mention, the Derby! My sister and I were able to get tickets to the Breeders Cup and we are counting the days.I come from good Australian stock and no one more admires thoroughbreds more, where else do they have a national holiday to celebrate a horse race!I will definatley put you on my interesting library list, and maybe you could let me know if you hear of any new books coming out on throughbreds.
Hey...

Hi
It was great to see that you had put my books on your interesting library list. I scanned through your books - What is your connection to Canada? I noticed some interesting books from or about Canada.
Ken
