About me"The written word is all that stands between memory and oblivion. Without books as our anchors we are cast adrift, neither teaching nor learning. They are windows on the past, mirrors on the present, and prisms reflecting all possible futures. Books are lighthouses erected in the dark sea of time." - Jeffery Robbins- ~Character in the tv show Gargoyles~
You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me C.S. Lewis Author of the Narnia Series
"Human beings write stories, and read them, for the same good reason: to live." ~Pete Hamill~
"Wilbur never forgot Charlotte . . .
None of the new spiders
Ever quite took her place in his heart . . . .
It is not often that someone comes along
Who is a true friend and a good writer.
Charlotte was both."
And Jess, returning to Terabithia without Leslie:
"She wasn't there, so he must go for both of them.
It was up to him to pay back to the world
In beauty and caring what Leslie had loaned him
In vision and strength." ~Jennifer M. Brown~

I had my first university exam yesterday. I think i did ok, my tutor emailed me today to say that our class got some of the best scores so far on the course, and told me not to worry. I just know though that i will be checking all week to see if the results are in yet.
I haven't had much time to read the wrinkle in time yet, only on page 35, but i have enjoyed what i have read so far

I'm glad you like the tea set. I had a concern that it might get broken in transit. Did it arrive in one piece?

I see that you have Dante's Inferno on your lifetime reading list. A group of us are planning to do a 'group read'starting on Feb 25th. While Iâm not planning to do a college level course in this, I do want to spend a little more serious reading time with this one than I have on some of the others. Please see http://www.librarything.com/topic/56314 to sign up and join the party. Hope you can join us.

I did check the library for the Adams book and neither the public library or Austin had it. Maybe when I get paid again we can look for it on ABE because I would like a copy for myself. Abigail Adams is one of my personal heroes.

Beth is trying to draw something called the 'Triquetra'. I have no idea why or what it is supposed to be . . .
Maybe later today you can show me how you integrated the graphics into your page, since they do not like my page.
Kiss Panda and Skittles and hug and kiss . . . for Beth.

ah....how very sweet!
And, how very lucky you are to have such a great mom who loves you to infinity.
Your mom and I have a lot in common including the fact that I tell my grand daughter Kayla (five years old) that I love her to infinity and beyond. She tells me she loves me higher in the sky than the space ship men can travel.
I'm looking forward to your posts and learning more of your reading habits.

I am half way through Hannah's gift by Maria Housden. It is a really touching story about a little girl called Hannah who has cancer. It is told through the eyes of Hannah's Mum.
What is your favourite book or do you have lots?

Welcome to LT!
I know you're going to love it here! I wish I had another reader in my home to share wonderful books with - you're so lucky!
Will you be studying in 2009? I think your mum mentioned that you were done homeschooling this year?!
I should thank you for spurring me on to join the 75 Book Challenge group for 2009. I was still considering it... I guess I would have joined, eventually. It's a lot of fun, but it tends to take up a lot of reading time, as well! Be warned :)
Best wishes for 2009,
Akeela
