About me"The written word is all that stands between memory and oblivion. Without books as our anchors we are cast adrift, neither teaching nor learning. They are windows on the past, mirrors on the present, and prisms reflecting all possible futures. Books are lighthouses erected in the dark sea of time." - Jeffery Robbins- ~Character in the tv show Gargoyles~

You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me C.S. Lewis Author of the Narnia Series

"Human beings write stories, and read them, for the same good reason: to live." ~Pete Hamill~

"Wilbur never forgot Charlotte . . .
None of the new spiders
Ever quite took her place in his heart . . . .
It is not often that someone comes along
Who is a true friend and a good writer.
Charlotte was both."
And Jess, returning to Terabithia without Leslie:
"She wasn't there, so he must go for both of them.
It was up to him to pay back to the world
In beauty and caring what Leslie had loaned him
In vision and strength."
~Jennifer M. Brown~

About my library
I love to read inspirational romances, cozy mysteries, quirky Young Adult books. With an occasional fantasy/sci-fi book. And lots of classics. I also love war letters.

The braces are off!
Whats your mom's name? I want to add her as well.
I'm in a bit of pain lol, 600 reps of boxing does that to a person.

ouch. I hope you are feeling better today.

YOu are as sweet and special as your beloved mother.

Thank you for your outreach. It means a lot.

Hugs and love,
Dear Catey

Thank you for your outreach!
Hi Catey

You are quite welcome. Your mom mentioned that you like Meg Cabot.

I hope you are your family had a good day today.

Hi catey,
How are things?

Thank you sweetie!

Thank you sweetie. Got it!

Mama (I will let you win this time)
not too bad, how about u?
I had my first university exam yesterday. I think i did ok, my tutor emailed me today to say that our class got some of the best scores so far on the course, and told me not to worry. I just know though that i will be checking all week to see if the results are in yet.
I haven't had much time to read the wrinkle in time yet, only on page 35, but i have enjoyed what i have read so far

Hi Catey

I'm glad you like the tea set. I had a concern that it might get broken in transit. Did it arrive in one piece?
Good night! I will see you in the morning.

Love you,
Thank you, sweetie. I appreciate it!

Did you decide what you are going to read next? I am currently reading 'The Girls' and it is very good!

Mama, mostest x mostest x infinity
Hi Catey

You are more than welcome! More tea is on the way. Look out for a package I sent yesterday.

I just saw it on your thread. I will definitely have to read that one, and then I can bawl over it like a baby, too.

Mama (still letting you win)
What are you reading that is making you bawl like a baby?

Mama (you can win this time)
OK, I did not know if you saw it or not, and it will be interesting to see your input on it.

There is a discussion of 'The Catcher in the Rye' going on here:

You might want to check it out since I know you have it home from the library to read.

Who loves you mostest mostest
Yeah I guess so.
You're very welcome, I hope you enjoy them as much as I did when I was your age :) (lol, listen to old me at nearly 23!!)

Hi the music!!

I see that you have Dante's Inferno on your lifetime reading list. A group of us are planning to do a 'group read'starting on Feb 25th. While I’m not planning to do a college level course in this, I do want to spend a little more serious reading time with this one than I have on some of the others. Please see to sign up and join the party. Hope you can join us.

Tina (aka Tutu)
Hi Sweetie

You are very welcome! I hope you enjoy the book.

Hi Catey, hope you had a nice party.
Guess what i got A wrinkle in time yesterday! I am going to read it after Anne Frank. I will let you know what i think.
Hayley xx
Ok ty I will try to read it!
Oh no, where is Bella's lullaby? I love that song. I would come to your page and play it over and over again while I work. Anyway just wanted to say hi. Know your mom from the 75 thread from last year. She's tops in my book.

I did check the library for the Adams book and neither the public library or Austin had it. Maybe when I get paid again we can look for it on ABE because I would like a copy for myself. Abigail Adams is one of my personal heroes.

This is a book you may be interested in, since you like reading books of letters:

What is the name? You know I will at least have to investigate it!!

Beth is trying to draw something called the 'Triquetra'. I have no idea why or what it is supposed to be . . .

Maybe later today you can show me how you integrated the graphics into your page, since they do not like my page.

Kiss Panda and Skittles and hug and kiss . . . for Beth.

Them (just to be different)
I tried using the site you are using for your graphics, but every time I copied the HTML codes they messed up, so I finally gave up on that.

Beth would like to know how the puppies are doing . . .

Us (again)
Beth and I have been playing with graphics on my profile page, but have not had much success. I keep copying the HTML codes, but they keep messing up!!!!!!!!! No worries, I am calm now. Can't you tell?

Happy Birthday!
Maybe we should just kind of drop by Hastings tomorrow some time and see if we can find out what they are reading for February to see if we are interested. What do you think?

Just a reminder that the Literati Book Club meeting is tomorrow night at 7pm at Hastings. Let me know if you would like to go and I will drive you.

I just noticed that Adagio has a seasonal eggnog blend available. Check it out here:

I am finally caught up on the threads again! How are you doing at them?

times infinity times infinity
Thanks for checking, sweetie. I just finished up and am headed home.

love x infinity and beyond
OK, thanks for checking for me. I have to get back to work now, lol. Too much time on LT!

Catey very sweet!
And, how very lucky you are to have such a great mom who loves you to infinity.
Your mom and I have a lot in common including the fact that I tell my grand daughter Kayla (five years old) that I love her to infinity and beyond. She tells me she loves me higher in the sky than the space ship men can travel.

I'm looking forward to your posts and learning more of your reading habits.
I wish we could count reading threads as books!

Good night, sweetie.

See you tomorrow!

Love you mostest mostest x infinity . .
Yes, I did sweetie. I asked Daddy to tell you, but I guess he didn't.

Are you trying to catch up on threads? I am, in between reading Crazy Horse.

Thanks Catey, I have added Book of a thousand days to my wishlist, after looking up it sounds really good.
I am half way through Hannah's gift by Maria Housden. It is a really touching story about a little girl called Hannah who has cancer. It is told through the eyes of Hannah's Mum.
What is your favourite book or do you have lots?
H x
Hope it is a good one

Hayley x
Oh my word, Catey! That is a fantastic pace! Your mum is up for some serious competition from you this year :)

I'll be watching your thread, probably in awe...

Hi Catey,

Welcome to LT!

I know you're going to love it here! I wish I had another reader in my home to share wonderful books with - you're so lucky!

Will you be studying in 2009? I think your mum mentioned that you were done homeschooling this year?!

I should thank you for spurring me on to join the 75 Book Challenge group for 2009. I was still considering it... I guess I would have joined, eventually. It's a lot of fun, but it tends to take up a lot of reading time, as well! Be warned :)

Best wishes for 2009,
