About meI am a reader, a writer, a teacher, the dad of a fifteen-year-old, and a husband. The picture here reveals a portion of Monument Rocks, one of my favorite secluded spots in Kansas. It's located southwest of Hays, not far from Scott County Lake. Someday, I want to follow the road depicted in this picture just to see where it goes.

About my libraryEven though I have donated more than two hundred books to the public library and have sold some at Half-Price Books and a few at Amazon, it still seems as though I have more books than I know how to shelve. The books listed here don't include the ones related to work. The older editions of literature anthologies and composition rhetorics and readers were the ones donated to the library. My tags don't include the last few hundred books added to my account. I hope to update these tags before too much longer.

I haven't been here long but I really like being able to peek in the widow at other people's libraries. It feeds the essentially nosy part of me but it also provides titles for future reading. I haven't read Jack Hale or Gary Soto, for example, and now having taken a peek at your collection I have ordered them.

I also went into redmooncafe - a peek in another window, for which I am glad. I really am a nosy person. Anyway, I like your blog.
Thanks for the recommendations! Also, I love the cat picture. :)
It makes me unbelievably happy whenever I see a PhD actively teaching and actively employed. :) Gives me some hope. With your 21+ shelves just begging to be entered into the system, I assume that the call of the full membership is beckoning to your wallet...
Great to see Johnathan Holden getting some love! I'm currently in his poetry class at K-State.
I'll keep an eye out for the books.
I was a student of Jonathan's in the early 90's. Earned my BA from K-State in 95. Hung out with Jana Leep from time to time, and Wes Beal. Took a lot of classes from Steve Heller.
Always glad to see another fan of Walt McDonald; but also having Adrian C. Louis and Komunyakaa shows a real depth and width of poetic appreciation.
