About meI used to love books with a passion, one that I am trying to regain. I would relish every Saturday, many years ago, wondering into a book shop (remember them??), taking in the scent of the new books and feeling a slight quiver of excitement as I would choose a new book to read. But that was quite a while back and since the rise of the internet, work, life, stress and finding things lurking behind the cooker that shouldn't be there, well, things like picking up a book has been that little bit harder....
Nonetheless I have found you all here and have begun to feel that old excitement rise as I start to sniff around bookshops again...Ah rejoice! May those crumbs remain ever more behind my cooker...
I am a 37 year old english woman who should know better but usually doesn't...
My book collection would indicate a leaning towards witchery (mostly of the solitary kind).

About my libraryCURRENTLY READING:
THE MAGUS by James Fowles

I set up a reading group as part of my work. The Bitch Goddess Diary was the first book the group chose to read. It was an interesting choice considering the group are of the older age range...it certainly raise an interesting and vibant discussion! The group will also challenge me into reading books I would not normally entertain!

So the library I have will comprise of my own books and books I am reading for the book group. These I shall review and indicate whether they re a book/reading group book on loan...

The rest of my library is just getting warmed up. It will probably end up a mish mash of sci fi, philosophy, witchy things, high brow, low brow and books that I read, didn't really enjoy but think I look far more intelligent than I probably am if I include them in the library.... go on, admit it, we all have them!
As I start to catologue my books I am beginning to notice quite a few, bought from second hand shops, that I have yet to read! I vow not to buy another book until I have read the unread! We shall see as to whether that remains standing..

Ancient Egyptians believed that upon death they would be asked two questions and their answers would determine whether they could continue their journey in the afterlife. The first question was, 'Did you bring joy?' The second was, 'Did you find joy?

You posted your note while I was posting the one below. Great minds with but a single thought. I do really enjoy writing reviews, and am delighted someone likes them. Thanks. As far as my life goes, things get easier with time. I mostly remember Lee with giggles now instead of tears. Books and grandbabies definately help!
I am flattered to be considered for your "interesting" list! Good luck with your no-new-books resolution. You're more determined than I am!
Hi Flowerbee,
The bookcase in the closet is a lot funnier now that decades have past; not real funny at the moment of discovery.
Good luck rebuilding the library and if you want any suggestion let me know. As my tag list shows I am very interested in the Vietnam War, so I have planty of recomendations there. As I write I am sitting in my room that is devoted primarily to the Vietnam War.
