Nice review of The Age of American Unreason by Susan Jacoby. I've put that title on my list of books to look for in the bookstore.

My catalog consists of most of the books I have read since the early 1990s, with a few having been read somewhat earlier. Almost all the ones I have read since about 1994, rather than being personally purchased, have been borrowed from various public and academic libraries. In early 2001 I began writing short comments on each book as I read it. These annotations are the "reviews" attached to more than half of my books. Each annotation was written at the time of reading, *not* at the time of adding to the catalog. The time of reading, more often than not, was within a year or two following publication of the book's original edition.
