Are you still reading Quince Alley or have you given up? I have just borrowed a copy from Lewes Library under ann inter-library loan. Yes, I noticed today that Bow Windows in Lewes do have a copy of this book for sale priced at £200. A high Price but it is a special leather bound first edition and was the author's own copy. I agree, Alice D. was not a great author but in her heyday she was highly regarded and even compared to Thomas Hardy! I noticed that you are reading Diana of the Crossways -Meredith was another author who was in his day rated on a par with Hardy but is now rarely mentioned. I found that if I persevered with GM the ultimate rewards were well worth it.

Just calling in to say hello, and Happy New Year. I am about to choose my next book and am toying with the idea of Margaret Storm Jameson's Cloudless May. So pleased to see you also have a copy and I was just wondering if you have read it! How is life with you and yours? Looking forward to hearing from you - Julie
