About meI aim for humorous cynicism. It's a tragedy-in-waiting if I have my way.

I majored in Classics in college. I did other things there, too, but they're relatively irrelevant in life. My current going-ons are similarly unimportant except for the following: I'm slightly obsessed by the occidental ancients, particularly Romans, excessively affectionate toward Sherlock Holmes, and harbor a fondness for Napoleonic times. My literary heroes are Bernard Shaw and Sophocles. I weep from the fact that I cannot read Ancient Greek and that Augustus Caesar is dead.

I prefer books with a fantastic, satirical, or historical turn. Preferably all three at once. It's all World In the Head.

About my libraryShrinking.

One day I shall have a library where the books shall live on their shelves in peace without me being harried to cull them. For now, the world changes and I can offer them no greater permanence than in my memories and here, if I can get to them in time...
