Hi Suzanne!

I am one of the people who got a copy of Call me Okaasan through the Member giveaway system. I have started reading it, and am looking forward to the rest - but at the moment I am absolutely swamped with university work so I have had to put it on hold. So I just wanted to drop a line to say thank you very much, and to assure you I will review it, just not quite yet!

Best regards,
Heidi F.
Well hey maybe in your next compilation you can include some of Amy Lemmon's poems. I'll buy it!

All the best,
Brent
Comes the Dawn

(Veronica A. Shoffstall)

After a while you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul.

And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesn't mean security,
And you begin to understand that kisses aren't contracts
And presents aren't promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats with your head held high and eyes opened,
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child.

You learn to build your roads on today
Because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans,
And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.

After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much,
So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers,
And you learn that you really can endure,
That you really are strong.
And you really do have worth.

And you learn and learn...
With every goodbye comes the dawn.
Hi Suzanne!

Love your pic, and Love You To Pieces was phenomenal! I'm the parent of a special needs child (I reviewed LYTP awhile back). Thank you for compiling & editing that book. Also recently reviewed Fierce (Hannah Holborn's debut) a contributor to LYTP. Keep up the good work.

All the best,
Brent
