About meMy name is Gail and I'm a bookaholic. I suppose that should say it all but bookaholics are also readaholics and readaholics need books, which usually mean they have a book collection that would fill the Grand Canyon. I'm no different. I read *almost* everything but I tend to prefer romances in all their sub-genres. I have a wonderful friend who owns a new/used (independent) bookstore so I order my new books from her but I don't buy nearly as many new books as I used to: reality has hit me up side the head and I realize that I have more books than I could ever read in the years I have left, and I'm so greedy to read that I actually get books from the library. Isn't that the dumbest thing in the world when there are probably 10,000 books in my house!?!? My name is Gail and I'm a bookaholic.

Oh, you can catch my Reading List here at LibraryThing. It's in the beginning stages as I have around 4,900 books-read to list there http://www.librarything.com/profile/theb...

About my libraryMy library? Well, since buying books is easier and quicker than reading them, my personal library grows at a faster pace than it decreases by reading the books and passing them on. There must be some kind of law of physics to describe this sad situation but I just call it "one step forward, two steps back" - you never catch up.

I currently have my book collection in an old Approach database but since a co-member of the Regency list (at YahooGroups) recomended LibraryThing I've been hooked on listing my book collection here. I have books on labelled bookshelves but after running out of shelf space I was forced to put my books in numbered cartons (all over the house); so far there are approximately 6,900 books in my database and they will eventually be listed here.

You can view my website - I used to sell books there but haven't kept up with that; I'm terrible at reviews so I don't have many there; there's Regency bibliography, and a Links page, and so on. Feel free to drop in and poke around, though I'm debating keeping it active or eventually moving it over to another host. Time will tell.

I'm also registered at PaperBackSwap - I'm slowly adding books to my inventory there; my member name is pioneervalleygirl. I'm new to blogging, you can check it out at http://www.thebookbabereads.blogspot.com

Hello! It's fine to be your friend, I agree about looking at other people's libraries. Always seem to find good books that way :)
