Ah well - I'm in no hurry to shove them offshore. Next intake will be fine :) But thanks for the update.
My kids are going in - will it help that their dad has dual citizenship do you think? When they were tinies we kept meaning to sign them up for dual citizenship, but we never got around to it; irritating because back in the 80s it was all but guranteed if you had an American parent. Then they changed the rules. And then my kids grew up and one is a magazine editor and one is a theatre director and the very best place they could *be* is in the US. Bad parenting, once again..... sigh. If I knew then what I know now (I probably wouldn't have children...)
My kid tells me the US Green Card lottery opened again today, just so you know... ;)
I forgot to ask - do you go over quite often (to Cape Cod, I mean...) If you do, you should stay at The Mean Lady Lodge which is where we stayed. Not its real name, of course, but the female half of the couple who ran it was utterly Fawlty Towers. She hated us. Can you imagine? Hated. Us. When all of our friends say we're absolutely adorable...
I married an American, for my sins, and yes I went over there for the very first time last year and fell quite unexpectedly in love with the place.

I wish I was a librarian. All those books!!
It's a great site, isn't it? I think I have some books on your wishlist - let me know if you want to borrow...
"The Big House" is an especially lovely read for a winter weekend....
Interesting library!! :)
