Groups50 Book Challenge

About meI have a BS in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Genetics. I work for a biotech company in West Los Angeles. Now that I'm working over 40 hours a week, I'm having a hard time keeping up my normal pace of reading.

About my libraryI read 52 books last year (some of them were repeats) and I hope to read more this year. I'm starting to branch out, so instead of reading my old favorites again and again, I'm reading new ones.

I love books that look read. The more worn the edges are the better. A library shouldn't be shelves of unopened books; it should be a collection of favorites that you've read over and over again.

Noticed you liked Fight Club, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a disturbed bunch of kids and a bit dark :) I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Thanks,

haha ya, I got one this month and its like the 6th or 7th that I have received.
Hey do you ever get early reviewer books?
While it was somewhat anti-climactic, at least it was better than the rest of the book. I think it was mostly relief to have something semi-interesting after a book that I thought was mostly bad.
Glad to know I'm not alone. I've been "told off" by some unhappy Twilight fans for my opinions.
Sorry to have left you typeless after reading my comments on Breaking Dawn. But sometimes a book one reads can get entangled with the life events occuring during the time that book is first read, and this can greatly influence how much that book is enjoyed by that person. Such is the case with me.

Because my teenage sister, who I have only been in contact with via IM these past two years, read this book "with" me, and we talked about it at length through the website she maintains (TwilifyMe.com), Breaking Dawn came to mean much more to me than it might have had I read it alone.

That's why I gave it four stars; and it is also why I recommended others to read it as a family. I really enjoyed the closeness it caused, if ever so brief, with a sister that lives too far away for me to visit.
Hey, Cheri, sorry 'bout keeping you up late! But glad you liked Dragon Heir. Devereaux IS nasty, isn't he? :)

Hi Cheri,

I almost never check my comments here but I just saw yours from March 4th. Just wanted to say thanks so much for letting me know you liked WAKE. That's awesome. Be sure to watch for FADE right around February 10!

I liked Inkheart, haven't picked up Inkspell yet, but it's definitely on my to-read list. What do you think about the movie (casting decisions, etc.), since you're a fan?

Hey there! Thanks for your nice comment! I really appreciate the encouragement, and I'm glad you enjoyed Donorboy
