About my libraryThe Garden Archive Room at Looscan Branch Library, Houston Public Library, houses a collection of books about gardening, landscape architecture, flower arranging and garden history. Books are donated by members of the Garden Club of Houston. The mission of the collection is to honor the club's membership, preserve a history of gardening, garden design, and flower arranging, and provide a resource for all Houstonians interested in the many facets of gardening and flower arranging. In the collection process an emphasis is placed on acquiring books of a local or regional nature. Because the collection is archival, visitors are welcome to use the books in the library but they may not be checked out.
