About my libraryThis library is my books from childhood 'til now, many inherited or otherwise absorbed. There is houseroom to some of my adult children's books, in care 'til they return from their travels, or collected for family members. The books and I, the piano and the remaining 19yr old cat have downsized to a much smaller space, and are trying to work out how we can all stay together as a workable entity. I have re-read much of the fiction, but so far have found few I never intend to read again. Which really makes very little difference spacewise.
As I do not have a home computer, I am slowly adding books in off times at work from quick handwritten notes of the essentials, and anything new. What remains to enter now is about four feet of the larger nonfiction books, some stray handcraft titles, and almost all the New Zealand books. From counting books in piles, and multiplying the number of piles, I estimate perhaps a thousand to go. That figure seems unchanging, no matter what is added.
Have digressed to enter DVD collection which is complete apart from a couple that seem to have left home - temporarily, I hope. Videos and tapes are another matter, and would take almost as long as the books to complete. Which is what I said about CDs, but since they are easier to get at than the remaining books, I have started listing my music. And now up to date. Oh, and what about the sheet music???
