About me I'm a lecturer (Americans read "professor") in English literature at a New Zealand university. Academic fields of interest: Shakespeare; the classical tradition (especially classical mythology) in Eng lit; fantasy/science fiction.

About my library Two large libraries, one at home (tagged @home) and one at university (@vic), both growing at an alarming rate ... Currently (December) I've entered most of the home library and about half the office one.

Hi Geoff,

Have you read 'Faces in the crowd : an argument for optimism' by Martin Flanagan?

Alana.
Good to see a fellow Kiwi and by some weird chance my browser often says I'm logged in as you!
Snap; my old Penguin copy is sitting about six feet from me waiting to be given to a suitable recipient (I'm winnowing as well as cataloguing), as some time ago I bought myself a nicer American hardback edition with Lawrence's introduction.
I see from your summary that "the classical tradition" is one of your fields of interest; do you know Richard Garnett's collection of stories "The Twilight of the Gods"? It comes with a recommendation rather more prestigious than mine, TE Lawrence liked it.
