About meIt's a fascinating and beautiful world out there -- there's a lot to learn.
About my libraryBooks read by year...
2005: ~12-14
2006: 25
2007: 27
2008: 53 (why yes, I did rediscover my love of graphic novels in 2008 -- why do you ask?)
2009: 22 (as of 22Apr)
Also, I think it's bad form that LibraryThing doesn't have Shelfari or GoodReads as possible selections under the "Also on" section of profiles. Must all life be about competition?

Awesome and Thanks for the ideas! I'll be putting these on my list!!
I did really like Fear and Loathing that was a great read.. Looking into the Rum Diary next as well. I have often thought of picking up American Psycho but like you say, maybe too weak in the stomach for that just yet! lol.
Lately i've been going through this kind of reading bender, and have been amassing big piles from the library and i cant stop!
But i would have to say one ( and a few more ) of the best books i've read lately, would have to be Cintra Wilson's A Massive Swelling. She is just Brilliant, and also hilarious, its a perfect mix!
After that..
Kelly Link's 2 books of short stories : Magic for beginners/Pretty Monsters.
Karen Russel's: St-Lucy's home for girls raised by Wolves. (yep). :)
Steve Toltz: A Fraction of the Whole. ( ok THIS is probably the best of the year) !!
Paul Auster: The Brooklyn Follies. also AMAZING.
I'll have to stop myself here cuz I could probably end up ranting all day long. I'll spare you :)Let me know what you think if you ever try one these or have already!!
AND PLEASE keep me up to speed next time yr blown away! Talking books will never get boring for me!:)
Nice to be typing with you!
Cheers
Julie

Your collection is Insane, its almost intimidating. I have a hard enough time remembering most of the stuff i've read, even the GREAT books! ;) If you could recommend ONE book that just blew you away, what would it be??!
Cheers!

Saw you liked Trainspotting, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reading my new novel and posting your comments here (as well as on a few other book-related sites). Thought you might like my novel since it's also about a group of disturbed kids and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:
