About meBook lovers. Cat lovers. Married for 11 years, together for 15. Currently share our home with 10 cats and our allergies. His favorite author is Ray Bradbury. My favorite author is Connie Willis. Addicted to all things British, including chocolate-covered Hobnobs. Happy to find this site, but really want one of those scanner gizmos 'cause I'm tired of typing in ISBNs'!

Update: Got a Cue Cat for my anniversary present! Whee!! What fun. Makes me wish I had more books.

Update 2! We have a new critter... a tuxedo kitten named Mike Meowski bringing the cat population up to eleven.

About my librarySome are his, some are mine, some belong to the cats...

Thank you Paula for the response. I will let Mark know your preference.
We appreciate it and should have a title nailed down for you all by the end of the weekend or soon thereafter.
You will hear more as the time draws nearer but it looks like we have a tentative start date of November 1st.
Will talk to you later and again,
thank you,
hugs,
belva
Hi;
Mark and I have been discussing the possibility of another group read in November and want your input. We have narrowed it down to two books at this point. "The People of the Book" by Geraldine Brooks and "The Thirteenth Tale" by Diane Setterfield. So chat it up with friends or us and let us know if you are up for it and what you think. Probably the same plan as with "Pillars of the Earth" which seemed to work out perfectly for almost all of us.
Think it over and give one of us a shout.
hugs and looking forward to hearing from you,
belva
Thanks for putting comment on my website.

Mumoftheanimals name arose from my animal-mad daughter who called herself girloftheanimals. I called myself mumofthe... when children eating like happy pigs, fighting like baby bears and behaving like naughty monkeys!

Nevertheless, lots of animals to justify my namesake too. Over the years, through daughter, been subjected to around six motherless chicks, wounded seagulls and hedgehogs, ten goldfish and two hamsters. This was supplemented by a pet-sitting business by said child that included a chicnchila, two parrots, rabbits and guinea-pig! Current 'permanent staff' are a licky-jumpy border-terrier and eight rats (yeuch!) One of the rats gave birth to eleven pups.
Hi! Again,
Allen is just next-door for me as I'm near I75 & Eldorado Pkwy.
I join a group of ladies from Allen/McKinney/Plano for a monthly brunch at Mimi's Cafe (on McDermott just west of I-75); also my "Cats Only" vet recently relocated from McKinney to Allen (on Bethany, east of I75). Then there's the new Borders Books that just opened west of I75 on Bethany.
Hello!
I see you are in Dallas...I'm in McKinney.
Discovered LT this summer; am slowly adding the
books I own to my LT library and am enjoying rediscovering them as I go.

Great LT username, BTW. I also love cats...currently have 2 very easy-going grey tabbies(Had a Siamese for 17+ years). My daughter & family have 4 cats (2 black cats, one 'tuxedo' cat & one grey tabby with white 'socks/stockings'& ruff. My grown son has 5.
your kitty on your pic looks just like mine, and he loves to sit on the books as well. What is up with that? LOL! any way he is CUTE!
Wow, 11 kitties! We have six...well, eight, if you count the mother and kitten we're fostering right now. There's nothing better than reading a good book with a purring cat in your lap.
You asked for EDA recommendations - I liked Hope, Camera Obscura, Father Time, The Crooked World, The Shadows of Avalon, The Year of Intelligent Tigers, City of the Dead, and I liked Adventuress of Henrietta Street (but look into it, some people don't like Lawrence Miles).
Hope this is a good start for you - - I think you'll find these are pretty well regarded titles and are rated well on fan sites.

Hi! I mooched the Doctorow book from you and followed the link here from BM. That's quite the collection you have. And is that a cat sitting on... *gasp*... Stephen Baxter!! Oh, the manifolds of the universes must make a comfy seat. :-) Baxter is in my top 5 fav authors and that trilogy is my favorite of his works.

Anyway, just wanted to say "hi" and "thanks" again for listing Down And Out.

Cheers,
~Tim
*giggle
i suppose that includes my impeccable phrasing in the other sentence where I wrote "Not only do I have to clean the apartment *regular* ..." ha ha! j/k
ha!!!
ha... This is perfectly ridiculous. I am sitting here all this time with a mound of books around me. Now I not only have to clean the apartment *regular* like I was going to, but I have _added_ to my work by piling up these books... which orginally were carefully sorted on the shelf (pretty much) according their types and authors!
i just joined Library Thing - but I'm lost. I don't know what I am doing here, or how to do it, but I'm sure I will be able to figure it out with your help! ha!
Just saying Hi! Your name caught my eye in LTLocal. Our kittehs r wayvin to ur kittehs! =^.^=
I have not yet gotten to the Looking Glass Wars - but they are HIGH on my wishlist! I am adding to my already out of control wishlist just looking at your great library!
