And I thought that MY house was stupid with books! Looking at some of the quantities that people have catalogued here bewilders me. Is it physically possible to hold down a job/career and read upwards of 3,000 books? Do the math. I've seen a couple of people admit that much of their catalogue is either unread or comprises a 'wish list'.
While I'm not finished cataloguing, I might estimate that I'll be in the 1,500 range. Don't know if I'll get to the shelves in my office, however (probably several hundred), as I try not to allow myself to be distracted. The bulk of my books I have indeed read, but there are some newer ones awaiting my dull gaze. And, of course, some gifts that I will NEVER read.
I just signed on yesterday, and have had a bit of fun doing this on some down time. I'll consider it my own version of Facebook, which I steadfastly refuse to touch (although my wife quite enjoys it).
