About meI left my precious bookstore job (and discount) a couple of years ago to be a fulltime stay-at-home dad. This responsibility has also drastically cut into my reading time. No more afternoons lounging in the backyard reading. Before working in various bookstores I was in the field of high tech manufacturing.

About my libraryMy cramped office has four vertical bookshelfs that are seven feet tall. They are mostly filled with literary fiction shelved in aphabetical order by author. The first author on the shelf is Edward Abbey, author of The Monkey Wrench Gang and Desert Solitaire. The last author shelved with fiction is Lisa Zeidner (Layover.)

One of the four vertical shelves is filled with various nonfiction, with an emphasis on Buddhism, wilderness writing and Native American culture. I also have two short horizontal bookshelves in my office with hardcover art & photography books...coffee table books. Stuff like Diane Arbus and Lisa Yuskavage.

Hi,

Was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Saw you liked Paris Trout, and I thought you might like my novel since it's also southern and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Hi!

I’m sending this note because you are a member of the Seattleites group.

A few of us are starting a book club and I hope that you will consider joining us.

Our first book is In the Woods by Tana French. Our first meeting will be on Thursday, October 2nd, at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park at 7pm.

See our thread called Book Clubs? on the Seattleites group or you can reply to me if you want more info.

Thanks - Carol
