About me Hi, Everybody! Hi Dr. Nick! This is probably one of the coolest websites I have seen in a long while. I took a few minutes to post my top 28 books (who knew it would be 28?), which are really more like my favorites that I can think of right now. I'm sure I'll be back to add to that list.
I am an attorney by day and a fiction writer by night. I just finished my first novel, a scary romp about psychic abilities that manages to be a cross between Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Michael Crichton. I'm delighted to send my manuscript out, so just ask! The only cost is a promise to buy the book when it comes out (which is, of course, TBA). And if you know any literary agents looking for the next blockbuster, send them my way.
I am also Marketing Director for Silent Voices, an anthology of terrific short fiction. Check us out at www.exmachinapress.com.
For fun, here are my top five books: (1) The Road by Cormac McCarthy--an American masterpiece and proof that there is hope for mainstream success for horror. (2) Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay by Michael Chabon--another masterpiece and proof that there is hope for the mainstream acceptance for the American comic book. (3) Life of Pi by Yann Martel--it is about as close as we've gotten to the Sixth Sense, without the really creepy aspect. (4) From a Buick 8 by Stephen King--a great horror novel that uses none of the conventions but manages to be so much more than itself. (5) Phantoms by Dean Koontz--what is that bump in the night?
About my library Check our Silent Voices, our short story anthology for very strong stories. Visit us at www.exmachinapress.com.
As you can surmise from my library, I am a HUGE horror fan, Stephen King being at the top of my list (like everyone else!). I like Dean Koontz and Robert McCammon. For a great post-apocalyptic novel, check out Swan Song by McCammon--probably better than the Stand. Also, read The Road by Cormac McCarthy, it is one of the world's great books.
