About meI am a retired associate professor in sociology (University of Groningen). My professional interests are in the social conditions of well-being and prosocial behavior. After my retirement I continued with lecturing for a few years and I worked parttime as an advisor to the government.
I was born and raised in Fryslân, with Frisian being my first language. Although never having received any formal education in it, I manage reading it quite well. My favorite Frisian writers are Rink van der Velde and Anne Wadman and I enjoy reading the poems of Obe Postma.
