About me"When I step into this library, I cannot understand why I ever step out of it."
Marie de Sevigne

"It seems, somehow, that she has left her own world and entered the realm of the book."
Michael Cunningham

I am a nondescript, short, round person who blends easily into a crowd. I live with my instructional designer/musician husband, one of my sons, 1 really cute dog, 1 hyper corgi, and 1 very old normal cat. My older son is married to a wonderful and beautiful young lady, so I am now a mother-in-law. I left teaching after 10 years, tried to find another job, and ended up back in education anyway. I am now a special education teacher in a local high school, teaching severely and profoundly delayed students. I read voraciously. If I could get paid for that, we'd be wealthy.

About my libraryI have quite an eclectic collection. I like many genres, depending on my mood. I buy books faster than I can read them, so they are stacked all over my house in various strange places. Purchasing a Nook and a Kindle did not curtail the book buying. The strangest part of my library would be the antique English textbooks. I also "inherited" some antique books from a relative of my husband's. It will take me a while, but I hope to get them cataloged soon. The oldest one is a bit over 200 years old, a veterinarian's book on horse care.

I have kept track of the books I have read for almost 10 years now on index cards. I hope to get these recorded in my library soon. It will take me awhile! They will be tagged "Read 2006", with the appropriate year. One goal I have is to note the location of all my books through appropriate tags. I'm tired of not being able to find anything!

It seems I am not reading like I used to, but I do read every single day, at least a bit. I'm told it's hormones and inevitable, but I'm trying to fight it! I have the attention span of a gnat these days!
