To respond to your questions...

QUESTION 1. How to make friends
Answer: The same way you do in real life! Do what the Bible says – to make friends, you prove yourself friendly. To translate that into the LibraryThing world – Think about what kinds of people you’d like to be friends with, then go to where they are and be friendly.

Do that by using the Search Groups hints I gave you in my last post, to find the kinds of people you want to be friends with.

Or, maybe start off with one of these groups and introduce your LT self:
Horses (46 members) - http://www.librarything.com/groups/horse...
Read YA Lit (2,211 members) - http://www.librarything.com/groups/ready...
Hogwarts Express (1,343 members) - http://www.librarything.com/groups/hogwa...
Off-topic (“’foo’ group - Go crazy here, and don't go crazy elsewhere.”) - http://www.librarything.com/groups/offto...

****************************************...

QUESTION 2. How long it usualy takes for people to talk on a group(mambers)
Answer: If you’re posting in an established group, you’ll often see almost instantaneous replies. Post in Hogwarts and see if I’m not right! But, if you keep starting new groups that are just repetitions of groups already established, its very unlikely for you to get many replies. That’s because people interested in such a topic are ALREADY talking about it, so they don’t go looking for a new place to do that in.

Unless a newly joined member happens to stumble across a group in the Newest Groups list on the main Groups page (as I see happened to your Twilight Book Lovers group) and they don’t understand how to Search the Complete List of groups. So, now there are two of you talking about twilight there on your new group, when you COULD both be talking among HUNDREDS of other twilight lovers, if you’d joined one of the original groups (see the list I posted to you earlier).

And, before you think about making any more new groups, DO read the Terms of Service (link at the bottom of every page): “Do not create "pointless," "meaningless" or "random" groups. We give all groups the benefit of the doubt, but the creation of multiple, duplicative and contentless groups is against these terms.”

As an example, staff has already shut down all these groups with the word ‘random’ in its title or description:
THE RAMDOM GROUP!!!! - http://www.librarything.com/groups/thera...
Random - http://www.librarything.com/groups/rando...
The book group - http://www.librarything.com/groups/thebo...
randomness - http://www.librarything.com/groups/whama...
Stupid Random Stuff! - http://www.librarything.com/groups/stupi...

Because, at one point, there were so many nonsense groups being made, staff created the ‘foo’ group for people who just wanted to talk silliness, so Groups wouldn’t be cluttered up with so much nonsense. So, that makes me think that ‘fun buns’ and ‘Your Advice’ would have been better as topics in the ‘foo’ group, instead of making more nonsense groups. Just a friendly warning, in case you find them shut down some day.
