Oh my goodness! I've only just learned that there were books that followed Afton of Margate Castle! I cannot tell you how much that book shaped my imagination as a young teenage girl. I only read it once, but it is as vivid in my mind today as it was the day I read it. I think its power has made me fearful of re-reading it - fearful that it would be somehow be different the second time around.

Your story was unafraid to disappoint my romantic view of the world - I remember that. I wanted to leap into the book and shout out the secrets to the characters - things that, by your story's end, they still never knew - but I was so glad, because it was so real, and painful, and hope-filled. The sight of it in someone else's hands still makes me excited.

I can't wait to see some of your reviews of other books in your library. Many of the titles you have listed are particular favorites of mine.
