hello imbolcfire
thanks for the thoughtful note. i too thought much of krisdottir's first book on JCP, but was not a little disappointed with her biography. i take nothing away from her labors, that wd. be stupid of me. i might have wished for less toilet talk. it was at a lecture at the stratford festival that the great canadian writer robertson davies warned us of digging to deep into the personality of our great artists. the lecture had to do with lewis carroll. it's of course easy to succumb to the temptations of psycho-babble, the alleged funny business between dr. johnson and mrs.thrale, but that way sadness lies. it suffices for me to contemplate powys' gargantuan labors. old powys was like some great fire blazing away on candlemas day. i feel powys, as it were, in the belly.

krisdottir didnt do old powys any favors. how do you feel as a powys lover, or at least one of your favorites. hello by the way.
