Unrelated - sorry ... I am plagued with alway straying from the subject of conversation.
I rejoiced when BLU announced the licensing of FLESH AND BLOOD and when nothing was heard a friend approached them and they said on their forum they pushed it off a cliff. I am not giving up on hope though. I believe all these things will eventually pick up again.
Back to Sweet Admiration I had fun with it at the time. It confused and bored me with its use of excessive miso cooking ... and the sad truth is that it represents such a large chunk of the yaoi novels out there... they should really bring out Flesh and Blood and the rest of S at least they do more than cook and photocopy...

It is hard to be understanding when you are a book short of a conclusion or when something that you wait for and get excited about gets blown out of the water before it even sets sail... suitable metaphor there since I am referring to pirate yaoi XD. But yes - financially it is not at all surprising. I have to admit Yaoi took off in the west a lot better than I anticipated. I am counting SOME of the blessing at least.

Good ole' elitist_yaoi... it was created as a knee jerk reaction to the rising climate of yaoi fangirls taking themselves and their genre too seriously. I voiced my dismay - got my arse in a twist and went on to make some enemies by creating a community that shows people how to REALLY speak out of their back side ^^;;
It turned out a lot more fun than I anticipated. It turned out I have both an alergy and afondness to verbal flatulance. Heh - the dichotomy of the human mind XD.
It is a bit dead there at the moment - but it wakes up in fits and starts...
I am waiting for the next volume of S but under the current economical situation when yaoi publishers in the west cancel series in mid release... well... I am trying not to be to pessimistic (Tokyopop just put the lid down on Flesh and Blood and hold the final instalment of Love Mode in limbo... which is a bad sign). It really is a fun read although suspending your disbelief is probably isn't enough... I needed to kick mine in the nuts and throw it off a cliff ... but I think it was worth it ^^.

My review of S is part of my attempt to read every yaoi novel out in English - I suspect it damages my brain quite badly but like really bad drug addiction - it is too adictive and too much fun to stop ^^;;.
