I don't think that darcy's story came out in hardcover. my copy was a paperback...but not mass market.

Sounds like you got some good books. Too bad you live all the way in SA. Makes it difficult to ask to borrow some. *lol*
I bought Lean Mean Thirteen recently too. I let my mom read it first since I wasn't sure when I'd get to it. Perhaps I'll read that one after A Thousand Splendid Suns. =)

I listed Burning Bright on BookMooch and it was gone the instant I hit send. I recently gave a way a bunch of my books so I don't have much to trade. There are some I have that I know I probably won't read again...but I am still having trouble parting with them. Ya know?
Oh, thanks for keeping an eye out for that Vreeland book. Even on half.com its listing for almost the same price that it retails.

If I were you I would wait to read Burning Bright until it was in paperback and you stumble across it in a used bookstore. Heck, I'll even send you my copy if you want it. I jsut need it for my book club meeting but then I don't want it no more. It was nothing super special. It was better than Lady and the Unicorn but falls between Pearl Earring & Fallen. I loved Virgin Blue by her, but after her most recent books I am not sure if she's an author that I am going to stick with.
If you're interested I've started to keep a blog about the things I've read:

I really enjoyed The Fountainhead...looking into tackling another Ayn Rand book soon. I ended up putting off A Million Little Pieces and The House Of Leaves for some other books...I'm one of those people who reads 5+ books at a time. Hehe.
