Jacquelyn,
Thank you for your note about my review. I tried to write an honest review, even though it wasn't very favorable. I certainly liked the second half of the book more than the first and think the series has promise. I've asked my 19 yo daughter in college to give it a try as I think this will be much more to her tastes than mine. She's a fan of Twilight and a couple of other paranormal romance type series. I enjoy young romance in the YA area more along the lines of Kenneth Oppel's Airborn series. We both loved that series but not Twilight! Steampunkish romance is certainly more to my taste. I also like books where you get more of a sense of the romance and deep feelings from the story itself rather than active descriptions of it, as Rising Shadow does numerous times.

Welcome to Library Thing. LT is the best place I've found for learning about books and getting good recommendations.

Good luck on the series.

Ron
