Ich bin schon nach dem Grundstudium vor 17 Jahren hierher gelangt (aus dem Saarland), und hab in den USA auch promoviert. Postdoc hab ich allerdings in England absolviert, bin dann aber wieder zurueck in die USA da hier die Chancen fuer eine Lehrstelle doch viel besser waren als in Europa. Ich mach etwas Biophysik (zusaetzlich zur 'soft matter physics') und bin dann auch an einigen Aspekten der Zellbiologie interessiert. Biologie ist sehr komplex (Physik ist eher einfach, aber eben mehr mathematisch) - und es ist mal interessant ob 'meine' Physik irgendwas hilfreiches zur Zell- oder Molekularbiologie beitragen kann. Ich bin vor allem an Kraftmessungen von Proteinbindungen interessiert, speziell von Proteinen in der Zellmembran - ich muss aber noch einiges an Biologie lernen!
