About meI am a classical musician living and working in Washington, DC. I've loved reading my whole life. My job affords me lots of time for it and it's my main hobby.

About my libraryI've always love the classics. My favorites authors/works are anything by Jane Austen, anything by Umberto Eco, They're Eyes Were Watching God, Middlemarch and my all-time favorite is Anna Karenina. The last 5 years or so, I've really gotten interested in reading biographies, especially of women. I love reading books about and by women. I'm trying to read more modern fiction and will be reading lots of reviews of new works on this site.

Noticed you liked The Bluest Eye, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also southern and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Thanks,

We had a great week in D.C. -- the cherry blossoms were stunning! Our girls are 7 and 10 -- great ages for a trip like that. It was wonderful.
Best wishes,
Anne
Hi japaul22 -- a belated welcome to LT! I just read your thread over on 50-book challenge. Looks like you're off to a good start, and are reading some great books. I also noticed you're in Washington, D.C. -- we're headed there Saturday for spring break (at least, we hope we are, we're having a blizzard right now...), and we're all very excited.
