About meI am a Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I earned an MFA in Fiction from the University of Arizona in 1999, and in the intervening years I've worked on a long piece of serialized Web fiction, and a poetry manuscript written entirely in the state between sleep and wakefulness. I'm currently at work on an indulgent lineated novel featuring so many characters that it may have to begin with an index.

About my libraryOne of my main areas of interest is narrative, and I'm especially interested in works that deviate from or otherwise complicate my understanding of "standard" narrative structure. Plus I like stuff that is just plain weird.

A lot of the reviews I post over here originally appeared in slightly different form over at my blog Raccoon (http://www.imaginaryyear.com/raccoon). That blog tends to be pretty free-ranging in the topics it covers: people interested in the book material only can find it aggregated at Raccoon Books (http://raccoonbooks.blogspot.com)

how is it we share only 41 books? also how is it that we dropped out of touch? are these things related? is there a conspiracy against us?
Appreciate your review of Coover "The Universal Baseball Association, Inc." In my copy I find 5 reviews I'd copied from hither and yon in 2006. (Alas, no attribution! How careless of me.) Recently lent it to a dyed-in-the-wool baseball fan. He returned it~~~~baffled and disgruntled! More the piy for him.
Welcome to Books Compared. We share NO books, so I'm looking forward to having you expand my horizons. Hope you'll write a comparison review for us soon.
Funny to run into you over here. I've tracked your del.icio.us bookmarks for some time over there.
Although you're far above and beyond my reading level (;]) I wanted to let you know I just joined this site recently (and Shelfari) but I haven't done much personalizing yet. I'm sure I'll enjoying seeing what you've done here. Hugs from your longlost penpal.
Love your review of The Waves! "A flickering texture of epiphanies." Yesss!
Just a quick note in appreciation of the wonderful capsule reviews you've done, which are astute and economical. Thanks for the benefit of your insights!
Hey Jeremy, just spamming you in some other context we share. I love librarything. Hope your cold gets better.
