About meI am mommy to a toddler, a husband and two cats. What time I don't spend taking care of them or painting, I spend reading and hunting for new books to read. I had a great dilemma in college whether to be an English lit major or art, and chose art. That path took me to San Francisco for five years, but my art studies got sidetracked by motherhood. Now my focus is teaching my daughter to love reading and books. So far she's inherited about 100 of my old children's books, and I keep buying her more! These are her books.

About my libraryI have always collected books. I search for them at library discard sales, thrift stores, used book stores and occasionally garage sales. I try only to buy books I have read and know I love, otherwise the piles of books and money spent on them would go through the roof! My criteria for adding a book to my collection is: would I read this book again? Some of my books I have read not only two or three times, but five or six since childhood. My dream for my library someday is to have sturdy, aesthetically pleasing bookshelves, in a room just for books. With a comfy chair by the window.

Many of my books are missing dust jackets. So occasionally I make my own, usually from collages of photographs clipped out of magazines. These books are tagged "Own Design".

Noticed you liked The Glass Castle, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a dysfunctional family and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter) in case you'd like to learn a little more about the book before you commit:

Thanks,

I used to have that dream of a whole-room library, but finally culled a lot of books a few years ago. I've still got plenty though. Enjoy that toddler time; it doesn't last long. I'm grandpa to a few toddlers now, but they live on the east coast, so I'll miss most of it. I see you've got Tom Groneberg's Cowboy book. Don't miss his wife's book, Road Map to Holland, by Jennifer Graf Groneberg. A beautiful little book. - TimBazzett, RatholeBooks.com
