About meWith a B.A. in English literature and mathematics, I have worked as a computer systems analyst for the past 35 years. I am currently working on an M.A. in English, with plans to retire into teaching. My interests are many, and besides literature, include linguistics, philosophy, comparative religion, mysticism, nature, hiking, gardening, golf, book collecting, writing, travel, music, visual arts, etc.
About my libraryI have approximately 4000 volumes, of which over 1600 belong to my Everyman's Library (1906-76) collection. Currently my LibraryThing list consists solely of what I have purchased from Amazon over the past decade. My library database is in Excel, and probably at least two-thirds of my books lack ISBNs. Perversely, LibraryThing will not accomodate uploading this data, and it is unlikely I will ever take the time to do that much data entry. Still, I like the idea of this site, particularly the community aspects.
