About meWife and mother to two cats, Athena and Rodney, and to Oliver David, born October 15, 2012.

I love to read (obviously). My job as a bookseller at one of the major bookstore chains helps me keep up with my book collection. I love Nebraska, my home, although I doubt you'll find me a typical (*ahem* conservative) Nebraskan. I'm very close to my family. I am pretty much obsessed with Gone with the Wind, both the book and the film, and anything and everything Disney. Je parle le français aussi.

About my libraryI've recently discovered the fantasy genre; I've always loved kid/teen fantasy (i.e. Harry Potter), but now I'm getting into Robert Jordan, Terry Goodkind, George R. R. Martin, etc. But I still have a soft spot for epic romances, like GWTW and the the Outlander series.

Brandon Sanderson is my very favorite author.

I put a piece of myself into every book I read, so I generally have to keep them. As of now, I remember when and where I got each book, but this system will help in case that should ever change. :) My collection ranges from books from my childhood, to books from my college courses, to books I've collected since I started working at the bookstore. Everything in "Your Library" is actually physically in my apartment. Yes, it's a lot, and I desperately need more shelves.

A note on my rating system:
It's rather slapdash. I have a hard time comparing books to each other. Two books may have the same rating, but it's very possible I could have a favorite between them.

5 stars: Absolute favorite. Can be current fave, or from my childhood without rereading it. Or just a favorite within a genre.
4 1/2 stars: So close.
4 stars: Quite excellent.
3 1/2 stars: Better than average.
3 stars: I liked it but didn't love it. Good enough to read the whole thing, but not earth-shattering. Most of the books in my library are rated at 3 stars.
1 - 2 1/2 stars: Worse than average, but probably good enough for me to read the whole thing.
1/2 star: Terrible. Won't finish.

Sounds to me as if you have more on your mind than LT. Congratulations on the new little reader! I'm in Council Bluffs for the Fourth, with my family and I was just thinking about you as I'm thinking of heading to B&N tomorrow - there are a couple of books I'm looking for.

Take care of yourself, my dear. I look forward to hearing about the Wee One.

Librarything cut off my post. :(
Anyway, the newest version of Jane Eyre was WONDERFUL, much too fast and short, but they got so much of it right, & I squealed and cried throughout! Definitely see it with your newly-wedded hubby! :D
I actually just went to the Margaret Mitchell house in Atlanta-my family watches the movie every Christmas (still not sure how that tradition got started)and I'm the only one who has read the actual book, but we all gleeked out in the gift store. I think we are all still a little ashamed at how much money we spent. :P

Isn't it wonderful? There is nothing like it, but I'm biased. I
Hello! We do share quite a lot of books!
Also, I thought I'd say, your profile picture is beautiful!
Hey! I love Gone With the Wind as well, both book and film! It is probably my favorite book-to-film adaptation EVER. Just wanted to warn you, as I warn everyone I know who loves GWTW--don't read The Thorn Birds. People will tell you it is just as good as GWTW, and its not, its horrible! LOL! But anyway, happy reading! :)
I finished Attachments! I feel like I have to keep reminding myself that being stalked is not romantic, it's creepy. But Rowell makes it so romantic! Thanks for the recommendation, I know I'll read it again. So funny.
