About me Only seven months after her installation as President of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), Joan was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer from which she died six months later on January 31 2007. Joan was a voracious reader and her books were among her most precious possessions. They illustrate the foundation of her education and training and can be considered the threads that wove her professional practice and supervisory experience into the fabric of her distinguished career as a leader in ACPE. As a perennial student, professional mentor and CPE supervisor training many hundreds of students over a 30 year period, Joan would want these books to serve as a reservoir from which future supervisory students might access the knowledge and experience which she herself can no longer provide.
About my library The 880 books in this catalog can be accessed by title, author and the numerous subjects they cover, among which the top ten are: Pastoral care, Feminism, Psychology, Psychoanalysis, Pastoral counseling, Women, Psychotherapy, Spirituality, Counseling, Christianity.
To access the catalogue of books, go to http://www.librarything.com/catalog/jhem... To see the list of subjects covered and the books within each category, go to www.librarything.com/tags/jhemen From this site, the Tag Cloud and the Author Cloud tabs allow easy access to each covered subject and to the books of each author in the collection. Many of the books in Joan’s library include her underlining, annotations and related notes.
NOTE: It is intended that this collection be donated (in part or in whole) to a program where future CPE supervisors could access them and thus benefit from the richness of its scope and content. Interested persons should address enquiries to Jennifer at the following email address: jhemen@att.net
