About meI'm a writer, reader, physicist, mathematician, and philosopher based in Irvine, CA.

About my libraryA propos the above, books!

These are all books that I own. I still have roughly half of my fiction to enter, but think I am nearly up to date on poetry, philosophy, math, and physics books.

Noticed you liked The Sound and the Fury, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also southern, a bit violent, and a bit dark :) I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter)in case you'd like to read more about the novel before you commit:

Thanks, Jim; "dark and disturbing" -- I fully concur; that's a perfect description of 'The Road'. And the language of BM frankly mesmerizes me; I return to it time and time again. It is rumored that McCarthy has a draft of another book, one about an oilrig worker in Louisiana; we'll have to wait and see.
I am currently reading McCarthy's new book, 'The Road.' It is a dark, haunting vision, and the eloquence we enjoy in McCarthy's pre-'No Country for Old Men' writing is here in the new work.
One more comment... you are a physics doctoral student and MFA student simutaneously? Thats ridiculous! Sir, you are doing exactly what I've dreamed of. *hats off*
I am absolutely amazed at your library. I believe it is rare to meet a physicist/mathematician like you. I secretly dreamed of becoming a physicist. Maybe I should have never given up the dream. Anyhoo, I absolutely love your library.
