About meJodie Brownlee is the author of the Ruby series for older children. Jodie had no inkling that she would one day be a writer and studied Fine Art at college. After travelling around the world for some time, she returned to Australia, had several art exhibitions, studied photography, worked for Greenpeace in Sydney photographing their environmental actions, studied multimedia and web management, taught it at college, created Greenpeace's first website, and set up a company called Brightspark Web Design. She now writes for WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals)which helps raise funds for such projects as Orangutan sanctuaries, Sun Bears, and animal friendly farms in Brazil. She currently lives in Cairns, Australia, where she is also writing her next novel.
